Copenhagen Design Week 2025, BD Barcelona

Event, Communication Strategy

BD Barcelona presented an exclusive preview of two new collections during 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen: SEQUENCE, by Snøhetta, and RASTERS, by OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen + Muller Van Severen. Both debuted within OTHER CIRCLE, a curated platform dedicated to exploring contemporary design culture from a post-disciplinary perspective. The event posed a communication challenge: two international studios, two distinct products, one simultaneous launch, and no finished product available for photography until the week of installation.

My role was to lead the full communication strategy for both collections: press materials, invitations, digital tools, newsletters, and social media. The challenge was not a single product launch, but the simultaneous articulation of two distinct narratives, each with its own studio identity, design logic, and audience expectations, while maintaining the coherence of a single BD event. This was further complicated by the coordination of multiple stakeholders: two studios with strong design criteria, a production partner in Other Circle, and an internal team working under time pressure.

The strategy consisted of establishing a shared communication framework capable of holding both collections without flattening either. A dual-track content system allowed each collection to be addressed independently and simultaneously, while preserving BD’s unified editorial voice. All materials were structured to clearly communicate the event and build anticipation, without relying on final product imagery. Instead of waiting for photography, a visual strategy was developed using technical drawings, sketches, and graphic assets provided by the studios themselves. The constraint became the guiding principle.

The result was a coordinated, multi-format launch that communicated two collections and a single event across press and direct channels.
